What Students Learn

Understanding Your Vehicle
You will learn how to check fluid levels and why it is important. You will also learn how to properly maintain your vehicle's performance, safety, and longevity. You will learn the meaning and location of instruments, gauges, and lights.

Understanding the Rules of the Road
We follow the AAA How to Drive curriculum and enhance it with video presentations and lively classroom discussions.  The Tennessee Driver's Handbook is also used to emphasize driving laws. You will learn the importance of following all traffic laws and the consequences of not adhering to these laws. After the class, you will thoroughly understand the importance of road rules to keep all drivers safe in their motoring lives.

Applying Knowledge with Behind-the-Wheel Instruction
All students begin their driving sessions on a driving range, demonstrating basic abilities of starting, stopping, reversing, and turning. While still in a controlled situation, you will learn the different levels of braking, including making panic stops.
